ECHO membership
What is ECHO?
Ethiopian Youth Council for Higher Opportunities (ECHO) is a youth advisory council of TaYA. ECHO is designed to develop youth leaders in the areas of family planning, adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health and HIV and AIDS. Council members serve as youth educators, advocates, and spokespeople on sexual and reproductive health issues and policies that affect young people in Ethiopia and internationally.
ECHO members work with the staff of TaYA to increase support for young people’s sexual and reproductive health by organizing events, preparing different campaigns, utilizing online and offline media outlets, developing educational workshops, attending conferences and lobbying policymakers at national and international level. ECHO members seek to improve youth involvement and programming geared toward young people by facilitating the inclusion of skilled young leaders in decision-making processes that affect their lives.
