Talent Youth Association (TaYA) in partnership with Amref Health Africa implements Kefeta in Addis Abeba and Debrebirhan city. Kefeta envisions Ethiopian youths who are game changers: empowered to advance their own economic, civic, and social development; resilient in the face of shocks; actively promoting development within their communities and contributing to the country’s peace and prosperity.

Kefeta will strengthen the youth ecosystem in Ethiopia with integrated, multi-sectoral, youth-centered programming aligned with the Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach.

Key Responsiblities

  • Provide overall credible leadership ensuring that Kefeta’s strategies, guidelines, SOPs, and manuals are properly implemented in the clusters.
  • Contribute to technical excellence at Kefeta consortium being active member to technical working lab assigned for;
  • Provide targeted technical assistance to project implementation to foster continuous improvement in quality in both programmatic and operational performance;
  • Ensure projects are aligned with and contribute to national and local strategies, policies, operational guidelines, and protocols as applicable;
  • Assure quality to all operational plans for projects to ensure they are realistic;
  • Review operational budgets in conjunction with project teams, Finance team to ensure value for money;
  • Plan and facilitate planning and performance review sessions in alignment with Kefeta’s planning cycle;
  • Ensure timely submission of quality project plan and reports;
  • Be primary contact person for Kefeta project working closely with Directors based at the central coordination office;
  • Effectively manage dissemination of information from the central coordination to clusters and cities staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in development studies or related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills for effective reporting
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility
  • Fluency in Amharic and English required
  • Ability to think creatively and use initiative to develop new tools and processes
